The Challenge
Learning to use a new product is time consuming and frustrating if poorly designed. The outcome triggers additional calls to support and/or resources to resolve issues, product abandonment, and negative associations with your brand. Can Veritas design next generation products that will outpace competitors and deliver value quickly while mitigating cost to the company?
My Role
Explore options for onscreen contextual guidance for new users of Veritas Velocity and help ditch the training manual. Conduct usability testing on design iterations and leverage findings to influence change as needed.
The Results

Reduce ramp-up time: Product walkthrough enabled new users to quickly install and configure the environment which led to immediate ROI (consumption-based model).

Generate sales: Sales teams able to quickly and efficiently demo the product using the walkthrough to generate leads and convert to sales.

Try before you buy: Legacy customers accustomed to existing systems are notoriously difficult to convert. However, usability testing can bolster sales as users are willing to try a new application without direct pressure from sales.
